The community Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM; we will be on a holiday/Sunday schedule. Benediction will follow Vespers (5:30 PM) whether the snow continues or not. Fr. Abbot Robert’s Homily for the Funeral of Fr. Edmund
There are two good reasons why I should offer these reflections about Fr. Edmund: first, as his abbot and, second, because Fr. Edmund and I shared so much of our personal lives as monks together. We both entered this monastery at the beginning of the 1960’s when the Abbey was only ten years old and […]

Anniversary Reflections

The Gospel of the Memorial is from St. Matthew’s Gospel, Chapter 14, 22-33. In that pericope, the Apostles see Jesus walking on the turbulent […]
Update from Fr. Robert
On the main page (“About”) of the website there is a new update from Abbot Robert describing his condition under the column “A Note From The Abbot”. We will keep that section updated as news emerges. And shortly, we will return to the real function of that column, Fr. Robert’s monastic teaching.
Homily for the 33rd Sunday of the Year
Readings: Proverbs 31:10-13, 19-20, 30-31; I Thessalonians 5:1-6; Matthew 25:14-30 Some of life’s challenges do leave me feeling that God can be very demanding. How am I to understand today’s parable? I believe that the context is very important. Today’s Gospel narrates a teaching from the last week of Jesus’ life. This is his […]

He’s been in very good spirits and has been issuing directives as if from his office at the Abbey. He’s expected home before the weekend.
