It was joy, a grace, and an honor to receive a Pastoral Visit from our Bishop, Michael Burbidge (accompanied by Fr. Joseph Farrell), this last Friday. After celebrating the Eucharist and challenging us to a fruitful participation in the graces of the Lenten Season, Bishop Michael was given a tour of the monastery, before addressing the community in Chapter. In the course of his address, Bishop Burbidge spoke of his recent ad limina visit to Rome and his memorable meeting with Pope Francis. Expressing his gratitude for our presence in the diocese (and for our prayerful support of his ministry), the Bishop spoke of the continued growth of the church in the Arlington Diocese—highlighting some of the many graces and blessings that witnessed to its vibrancy. Following the Office of Sext, Bishop Burbidge and Fr. Joe joined the community for a festive meal in the monastery refectory before taking their leave.
