Well, the long wait is over and here are some photos of the renovated church ready for our first mass on April 30th. Come visit us! You won’t believe your eyes…those with heart conditions make sure you take your pill before entering the church–you will gasp, I promise.
George Alexa says
Wow….I promise to take my pills prior to the entrance! What the picture now shows me is that the altar was moved closer to the people and remains the same distance to the monks. I can’t wait to see it and will do so on the 19th for when I attend the MIW. Great job.
Kurt says
that’s right George…the altar is in only one place now, in the center of the church. during the week the monastic community will simply gather around the altar. On Sunday they begin in their stalls and come down around the altar for the Eucharist.
One other thing all will notice – the acoustics are fabulous…sounds like a much bigger choir than it is.
George Alexa says
The bonus is what you say about the acoustics. A few miles from me is a beautifully built church. The problem is, the acoustics are awful. I don’t care where you sit, it is hard to hear the sermon, and they know it! And so, to say the acoustics are fabulous, that makes all the difference. Again, I can’t wait to see the new look and hear the sounds!
Charles Stevenson says
And soon, G-d willing, there will be more brothers and fathers in choir to catch up with the sound!
