We know, we know. You’re wondering WHERE IS THE NEW CHURCH? We are too! It’s almost done; we are waiting for the floor to be stained, then we will install the furniture and be ready to welcome you back home to the Abbey.
Unfortunately we don’t think we’re going to make it for Easter–and you think you’re disappointed? We love each other but I think I speak for the whole community when I say ‘we need more room.’ The Chapter Room has served beautifully as a temporary chapel, but we need our church back.
Because you have been good, patient boys and girls, I am breaking my rule and posting this one photo, but only one. Here’s a quick view of the new ceiling, lighting and windows.
I will continue to keep you updated on progress. We’re expecting to hear this week on the schedule for finishing everything, (we think the new choir stalls are done and are waiting to be shipped).
God rewards those who wait. (Or maybe that was Godot?) No matter–we have to wait just a little longer.
