By now you have probably received your copy of the Fall / Winter newsletter. In it is a story about the ongoing renovation of the chapel and includes an artists rendering of what it is to look like. Here’s what it looks like now:
As you can see on the left the builders have covered the stained glass window to protect it. On the right you can see the makings of the wall behind which will be a small private chapel for the monks.
The campaign is under way and we have received a gift or two. We ask that you prayerfully consider how you might help us with both your year end gift and perhaps a gift for the renovation. The total cost of the renovation will be around $500,000.
Thanks in advance for anything you can do. For information or to discuss your gift call Kurt at 540-486-5674 or email at companions@virginiatrappists.org.

I think the private Chapel is a great idea for the Monks. They had some space that was not needed and will now be put to better use.

In looking at the photos, remembering the chapel as it was just a few weeks ago, and pondering the fact that Mass and Office continue unabated; and in trying to visualize the chapel as it will look whenst finished, it hit me like a thunderbolt: You are doing this for us, your extended community, as much as for yourselves! And as I have been so many times before, I am once more deeply moved and grateful at how generous and welcoming you are to us. Words fail me. So, Thank You!
