When this website went up in 2011, we were just on the verge of the mobile device revolution. This website has served us at Holy Cross Abbey well to raise our profile and extend our monastic hospitality; but it is time for a few changes to catch up with how you now communicate and stay in touch.
We, too, have changed in the process and are more engaged with you who follow us. Just looking at the clarity of the Cemetery’s page, our Retreat House page now seems reticent and vaugue. I see what we need to change to give you a better idea of how to make a reservation, how to find the Retreat House and what to expect once you get here.
Of course the format will be different and will depend more on scrolling down, as works well on your mobile devices.
Do you have any suggestions? What do you need from us for this site to work better for you?

Father,
I would like to suggest a link section that could also include a suggested reading section also. Just a thought.

Thank you for making it possible for us to share, in some measure, in your wisdom and your work! It is a great blessing to us.
I like Tim’s suggestion, and would only add that more on prayer, in particular the grace and practice of deep prayer, would be welcome. Might we see more about the Divine Office, and some more specifics about how those of us outside can pray with you; a “distributed network,” as it were, addressing the Mind of Christ and the Mind of G-d?
Thanks!

A small bio section for each one of the brothers would also increase the connection between the people who visit the site and the Abbey. But you told me a while ago that monks like privacy .. 🙂
Hope to come to visit soon .. just being incredibly busy with 600 students this semester ..
