I know that a number of our readers are familiar with the work of the late Fr. Chester Michael. In 1989 he had established The Spiritual Direction Institute for those who wished to learn the art of spiritual direction.
On Sunday, 12 April of this year, the SDI will host an informational meeting at the Church of the Incarnation in Charlottesville, Virginia, for those interested in the program. This two year adult formation program covers more than fifty tools that enhance one’s individual spiritual journey and help accompany others on theirs.
Meetings are on the first Saturdays of the month (except the summer) with two weekend retreat per year.
Through group discussions, lectures, personal daily prayer and study, such topics as wisdom of the spiritual masters, prayer and temperament, the MBTI, journaling, lectio divina, personal growth plans, and much more are covered.

Deacon Bob Young says
Bev, Deacon Bob Young from Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Petersburg, here. I have received a request from Richard Girardin the campus minister at VCU. He has asked for some Spiritual Direction support for Catholic Students that attend the university. I plan to meet with him soon and wanted to reach out to SDI, to see if this is something they would be interested in or could assist in? I’ll know more after my meeting, but is something that might be possible for those Richmond based SDI graduates? You thoughts. I can be reached at byoung@sjcpetersburg.com. Thanks,
Paz y Bien
