I wish all our friends and those that have never been here could see Holy Cross Abbey right now. The snow covers the ground and trees and the glory of God is present in nature.
Winter is a perfect time to retreat here at the Abbey. The Retreat House has beautiful single rooms with bath and all have windows that face the meadow and beyond to the Shenandoah Mountains. The silence seems magnified in the snow…you can almost hear it.
If you need a post-Christmas break or are just looking for a few days of silence, monastic chant and a good cup of coffee each morning, Holy Cross Abbey is your place.
