This week we are happy to receive two men who will be joining us for three months to discern their vocation with us. We call them Observers, since they have the opportunity to observe our way of life in the concrete and observe their own responses and reactions to that experience.
The two men are David Manipoli, who arrives today (12 May) and Michael McCoy, who will arrive Monday, 13 May. Neither are strangers to the community but have been in touch with several of the monks since they first inquired. The date of an Observership is determined by the candidates’ preparation for such a step, his availability in view of his current responsibilities and the community’s own commitments–for example, they would have come earlier but we were away in Priestfield for our Re-founding Retreat.
Please join us in praying for and with David and Michael that God’s will may be brought to fulfillment in their lives and ours.
