I’ve been told that we are experiencing one of the worst outbreaks of flu in history this month. I haven’t checked the data on that. I can add that it’s not flu afflicting us here, but also a round of colds.
I can report that Br. Barnabas and Fr. Malachy are responding to treatment at Winchester medical Center; in the community, Fr. Paschal and Br. Joseph are still under the weather; Abbot Robert remains busy visiting the sick and running the usual errands. Thank you for your prayers for all of us: this is a real, a tangible help and we appreciate your generosity.
The rest of us have become very adept at substituting for the missing brethren. As a result, the Word From The Abbot has not been updated for a couple of Sundays but will be resumed next Sunday, the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord.
