Yikes–if you are thinking of attending the Monastic Immersion Weekend in April I wouldn’t delay in emailing me you are interested and then sending in your $100 deposit. It’s filling up faster than I expected though there are still spots open.
An MIW is just that-an immersion in the life of the monastery and the monastic community. Not a silent retreat, but rather a retreat for those interested in contemplative life, the MIW includes conferences from monks and the Companion on the Rule, the history of monastic life and the rhythm of monastic prayer for all people. And it requires participation in the full rhythm of the house including Vigils at 3:30 am. Those attending also sit in special seating and follow the Office with special choir books provided.
If you have questions don’t hesitate to email to companions@virginiatrappists.org or call 540-955-4604.
