There are so many things to write about that sometimes I am unsure where to begin. Aside from news items and schedules and bibliographies, there are the Cistercian tradition, the spirituality of the Rule of St. Benedict, the issues of sustainability, ecumenical dialogue, the spirituality of stewardship–and many more topics as relevant to you as to those of us who live here.
Is there some topic you’d like to hear about? Would you care to read more of something already mentioned? Is there information your hoping to hear about but haven’t seen here yet? Do you have any questions?

Father, how about, the benefits of the greater use of silence in our fast paced world outsidde the Cloister.

Tim this is such an important topic for all Christians. Very soon I will post some thoughts on this based on a program I teach in parishes called “Simplicity+Silence+Sabbath.” Truth is, though we don’t want to admit it, we CAN find time for silence and solitude if we really want to. What it requires is INTENTION…when we say time for silence and to be with God is just as important as time in front of the TV or computer and just as important as that run we take in the morning…THEN we can create silence and solitude and sabbath.
