Reaction to our Spring newsletter was so good we’re going to do another one! The Fall Newsletter is being written as we speak and you can look for articles that update you on the monks in the community, the cemetery and natural fruits and vegetables program as well as a story on the Monastic Immersion Weekend with a bunch of cool photos…we’ll also hear from our very vibrant Lay Cistercians, a report from the Building Committee about restoration work to begin on the monastery and in case you missed ’em a note on the new signs on Route 7 pointing people down Castleman Road to the monastery. And being the Fall Newsletter we’ll have a story enticing you to buy fruitcake and fraters for every single person on your Christmas list…our fruitcake ‘aint’ what you remember as a kid! Moist, juicy and a terrific gift (unlike the one your Aunt Bertha gave you that you used as a doorstop in your bedroom).
Several people sent in comments on the newsletter and if you have anything you think we should write about or even change in the format don’t hesitate to send email to Companions@virginiatrappists.org We’re always looking to improve and want to hear your thoughts.
BTW, hopefully you heard the story about the Monastery on NPR a week or so ago and we had a terrific feature in the Arlington Catholic Herald this month…
