There’s still good availability for a stay at our Retreat House through the rest of July, August and September (though the last weekend in September is reserved for the participants in the Monastic Immersion Weekend).
If you have that “vacant” vacation time, or perhaps your vacation plans have run aground or you need to “get away” in an entirely different sense, this could be a great opportunity for you. Each room has its own complete bathroom and is air-conditioned; at the Retreat House itself, there’s a handsome meditation chapel with the Blessed Sacrament reserved, available to retreatants twenty-four hours a day. There’s also a small library with a variety of reading material to support your spiritual journey. We have worked out again a system to provide a monk for counsel or confession one day during your retreat. And all this is framed by the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and the constant “entertainment” of its unpredictable weather. The grounds are a bird-watcher’s paradise; for us monks it’s a panorama that speaks of the glory of God and the wonderful gift of responsibility for creation that we’ve been given.
