Well, the long wait is over and here are some photos of the renovated church ready for our first mass on April 30th. Come visit us! You won’t believe your eyes…those with heart conditions make sure you take your pill before entering the church–you will gasp, I promise.
A Word From The Cistercian Fathers For May
When the time comes when Jesus is no longer poor or hungry or thirsty or able to be tempted, then Mary alone–that is, spiritual activity–will occupy the whole of the house–that is, our soul. Saint Benedict saw this, or rather the Holy Spirit in Saint Benedict. That is why he did not say and decree […]
Fr. James’ Homily for the Third Sunday of Easter, Year A
Readings: Acts 2:14, 22-13; 1 Peter 1:17-21; Luke 24:13-35 Today’s Gospel is one of the fundamental texts of the Church’s experience of God, as valid today as when it was first penned and heard roughly two-thousand years ago. This year I’m struck by the amount of information Cleopas and his friend know about Jesus. But […]
The Third Sunday of Easter, Year A, 30 April, 2017
Readings: Acts of the Apostles 2:14, 22-33; 1 Peter 1:17-21; Luke 24:13-35 The community Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Fr. James presiding and preaching. Yes, we are celebrating in renovated church rather than the Chapter Room. However, the pews for our guests are unfortunately not yet ready to be moved in, so using […]

A Word From The Cistercian Fathers For The Easter Octave
Be grateful for God’s grace; and as you have been transformed into a new creation by Easter’s healing action, so walk always in newness of life. You have been given a share in Christ through the fellowship of faith, by participation in his sacrament, by communion in the Holy Spirit. Strive not only to keep […]
Fr. James’ Homily for Easter Day
Readings: Acts 10:34a, 37-43; Colossians 3:1-4; John 20:1-9 I believe today’s Gospel tells us how God loves us. God loves us with so much respect that he allows us the risk of discovery. The point isn’t to get all the right information lined up or even to understand. The point is to keep coming back, to try to […]
Abbot Joseph’s Homily for the Paschal Vigil
Readings: Genesis 1:1-2:2; Genesis 22:1-18; Exodus 14:15-15:1; Isaiah 55:1-11; Romans 6:3-11; Matthew 28:1-10 Religious skeptics sometimes cite factual inconsistencies among the four gospels as grounds for doubting the authenticity of their message. Over the next few days and weeks we will be hearing some of the inconsistencies in the differing accounts of the resurrection. However, […]
The Church!
OK friends, here’s the good news which you might have read in Fr. James’ post recently–they will stain the floor starting day after Easter. That takes a week, which means hopefully we will start moving furniture in around the 24th…which means……..we will be in the newly renovated church soon! Keep an eye on this site […]
